Wknd Recap: Tea party shower + hosting friends.

This past week some ladies and I gave a lovely bridal shower for our friend Brianna. She is marrying my husband's assistant Youth Pastor, Jorden. Jorden has been on staff at our church for 3.5 years now. Crazy. I has flown by. a lot. Brianna has been going to our church since her childhood. We wanted to have a tea party theme filled with florals/vintage linens/tea sandwiches/ cupcakes/ devonshire cream/ scones/ tea/ coffee/ Ella and Louie Armstrong playing. It was such a joy hosting this shower. I love how the beauty when women come together and spread the love. We have so many amazing people in our church. I am blessed. We had seed packets for party favors. (dreaming of spring in MN- currently raining/hailing here....yes it is April 14) Here are some pix of the shower. The linens are Kati's collection and the doilies are from my Grandma Cherie.

We hung ribbon on fishing line for garland.

Seed packets hanging from ceiling for a whimsical feel.

I heart milk glass. We usually have a buffet line for these type of events....but we switched it up and had all the tables dressed so the ladies were served right where they were.

I am obsessed with these dishes that our church has. I love them. So dainty.

Used tissue paper to make poofs and cover bulletin boards.

The bride to be and I. Note my mickey sticker that I forgot to take off the whole night..... We had a mtg with our travel agent earlier in the day. 8 days in counting to Disney!!!! We have a excited 3 yo in our house.

I snapped this when people were starting to leave.

This weekend we hosted a lot. It is can make this mama tired but I am sooooo blessed with amazing friends. Seriously, so blessed. We had friends come down from Mnpls. Andres and Jesse came with their 3 month old son, Zadok. He is a model baby. Jesse used to be one of our youth leaders and she lived with us for a few months pre-kids. Her parents run the orphanage in Mexico that we have visited for missions trips in the past. Love her fam. We also had the Molins over for the fun. We ate all day----really good food. Cinnamon chip french toast with raspberry maple sauce, scrambled eggs with fresh veggies, cafe miĆ©ls, pineapple brats, cheesy potatoes etc. Oh my word. So much food.  The day was a blessing.

Ike and Brie loving our girls as always.....

Zion, "Look, I am holding both babies."

As I am posting this.... Zion just said, "mom, I want that baby to come to my house again!" ha.

So many people in our lives that we are grateful. family. friends. church family. neighbors. blessed this Cass fam is. BLESSED.

H54F

Happy Friday everyone! For my non-Minnesota friends......it is currently snowing here and is under 30 degrees. I am so depressed. I really want SPRING! I know that all of us are complaining but it is time. Moving on.....

We had a great week here. Last weekend, I had a girls day with my mom and two sisters in Minneapolis. We hit up Anthropologie, West Elm and Mall of America. It was fun! We were bridesmaid dress shopping for my Sis, Chelsea! Let me tell you. it is hard to find a dress. I had fun being child free that day. Minus having to find random places to pump, like storage rooms in restaurants or a ladies lounge where there is 4 teenage girls looking over at me. I felt glorious. Ha. DEDICATION. I made sure to text my hus pix of my environments while he was back home with the lil ladies.

I love ANTHRO knobs. The possibilities.....

Girls days require two things:  Coffee drive thru and Bubble Tea. YUM!

I gave an awesome bridal shower yesterday at my church for our friend Brianna. She is marrying my husband's assistant youth pastor, Jorden. We had a tea party theme. Scones. Tea Sandwiches. Fruit. Devonshire cream. cupcakes. Iced coffee and of course Tea! It was so cute. I will post pictures tomorrow! We used vintage linens. spray roses, tea pots, cake stands and seeds for decor!

I have been wanting Euro Pillow shams for a while now. Having memory form pillows are the not the best for sitting up in the bed. I scored these at West Elm for $9.99. PRAISE. I love how they are more southwestern/african. They fit right in. Do you like?

Here are some favs from the girls this week. It is so fun having Kiyah sit up when we grocery shop. I love how she looks at her sister.

Princess time all the time. She was asking me what kind of a princess I wanted to be. Zion lives on the stairs. She climbs up and down all day. She sits. Lays down. reads. plays. puts dollies on there. She is so funny.

Happy Winter. Barf. ;) Hope to have some sunshine soon.

Loves.

Lock Love Wednesday!

I started Lock Lock Wednesday to get myself motivated to style my hair everyday. It is so easy, for even hair stylists to get in a rut with their hair. I am hoping to inspire you along the way with simple and fun techniques to help you look fabulous! Join me along the way. It will be fun! All you have to do is take snapshots of your hair during the week and link up with me below!

I have been wearing my hair down a lot and just enjoying the length. I have been growing it out a year and a half now. It is really fun having hit my shoulders now. I curled my hair here with a 1/2 " curling iron. I used my Awapuhi Shine Spray and Hair spray for this style!

I did the simple pony here. I have been a huge fan of silk scarfs/head wraps/ headbands forever! I love how it keeps my hair out of my face! I originally put my hair up fancy but wasn't feeling it. I wanted a simple pony. Sometimes that is the right look! My wrap is from Charlotte Russe.

This was taken yesterday. It was right before bedtime. The girls were extra cuddly. I flat ironed my hair with my GHD 1" Professional flat iron. I love this flat iron. I tied my left side up in a knot and simply slipped a bobby pin in to secure it. Easy.

Do you have any favorite looks right now for Spring? Link up below with your favorite look or style! Find me on Instagram and use #locklovewed or #locklovewednesday! Get inspired. Don't forget that today is the last day to try winning a FREE Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shampoo + Conditioner (Valued at $40) You can enter the giveaway by following me on Instagram and reposting my picture using #talahairlifegiveaway  Winner announced after 10pm tonight!

I thought I would leave you with my SPRING INSPIRATION taken from my Pinterest HAIR board! I love browsing InStyle for ideas....Love their pics.

Love the 4 looks above. I am obsessed with the wearing your hair to the side when down. Blake's blonde locks are stunning. My dream style is having texture like Kelly's in the bottom right corner. It is so amazing!

I love these two options for color! The reds/coppers/strawberry tones always win me over.
I love how the ombre' on the right how it is more cinnamon/copper versus the caramel/blonde that is so popular. So PRETTY.

With weddings and prom approaching I love these two updos! Julianne's is so gorge. I would totally rock both. They both show my style. The fun/youthful side and the vintage/feminine look = perfection.

I think if I am tempted with any particular style to go back to it is Michelle Williams. I love it! She is one of the reasons I chopped my hair off 2 years ago. I shared these two photos with you because it is my color inspiration for myself. Gold/warm blondes. I love it. It goes with my green eyes and pale skin.
