H54F

Happy Friday! I am praying that this weather shapes up for MN! We defnitely have green grass now! It is so crazy having this weather daily. I love myself a good sunny day. The pools are supposed to be opening this weekend. YAH! It has been a great week! I have been scrambling to get stuff done for my sister's bridal shower tomorrow! Here are some of my highlights from the week.....

I am still loving my new kitchen color! Andy and I have been wanting this passage of scripture in our kitchen for awhile now. I took advantage of naps earlier this week and painted it with some acrylic paint! I love it. It is us. It is a good reminder to make everyday count. It says:

18 Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 19 Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 20 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, 21 so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth. Deuteronomy 11: 18-21

Last Friday, I got to spend the day with my good friend Francoisé in the cities. We did our annual facials and shopping. We took baby Zakiyah with us. She was perfect! We stopped at West Elm and I am loving these vintage looking kitchen accessories! Do you recognize the name? TALA! My studio name. I didn't get them but they are cute.

Memorial Weekend was a bust weather wise. So we did lots of playing in the house. We had some fun get togethers with friends too! The girls were making a lego church here..... in the desert. Zion is working on the parking lot of cars here. :)

With my husband being a youth pastor, we are in the midst of graduation party season right now. It is our June every year. We hit up Nikki's last Sunday and she had a cookie bar. I was in heaven. So good.

On top of grad season, our youth group, The Gate, performs a annual play too! This year's play is called, "The Kingdom". It was AWESOME!!!!!!!! I can't get over how amazing it was. Andy's assistant YP, Jorden made this happen along with our amazing volunteers! I loved it. Our youth room was packed! We are performing it this sunday for 9:30 and 11 am service! Can't wait. I am proud of Gate mama!

Linking up with Jeanette and Lauren! Happy Friday! Have a blessed weekend. Think of me when I am hitting up grad parties, a wedding, a 3rd birthday party and my sister's bridal shower, oh and family time and church....... HA HA. wow. I need a coffee. NorthFace camel pack of coffee. Yes, please.

Day in the life..... Christy Cass.

Blessed. Grateful. Overwhelmed. Still smiling.....

Zion's Gum in her Hair Interview :)

Driving home last night from our church, Zion tells me that she lost her gum. The gum that she had been chewing........"Mom, its on the floor. I want new gum. I want new gum. I want strawberry shortcake gum (trident strawberry-kiwi)." A few minutes went by and I hear, "Mom, it's in my hair. I find it." Out of control. We got it all out when we got home. Thank you ice cube. I was laughing a lot. She is sooooo funny. I did hug her lots after this video to console her ;)

Enjoy....

LLW

Happy Lock Love Wednesday! Hope life is treating you fancy! I started LLW to get myself motivated to style my hair. Being a hairstylist, I can get burnt out on styling my hair and wanted a way to get through my hair rut. I post pictures every Wednesday for you of styles that I have worn, styled on others or seen that have inspired me. Join me along the way! Link up below or follow my on Instagram!

I twisted my hair in two sections above and used bobby pins to hold it in place. I used a H&M clip to dress it up. I used Awapuhi Sea Salt Spray and Hairspray for product.

Here I used a curl wand to put some wave in to get texture. I braided both sides and pinned it half up. It took 5 minutes.

I did two wedding styles on Saturday. Josie has fine hair and we wanted something a little less formal and more edgy. I re-shaved her side shave and gave her steps. We roughed it up with hairspray and lots of braids. I love it.

Steph's hair is gorg. I colored it the week before with a ombré technique. We used my curl wand section by section. I used a lot of my dry shampoo before started to dirty it up. I prepped the hair with hairspray. I did a side french braid on the right to swoop it over. It turned out lovely.

Have a great Wednesday!

High Five for FRIDAY-- Kitchen REVEAL!

Every Friday, I link up with Jeanette and Lauren for my highlights from the week! I have had quite the week! We hosted a lot, painted a lot, worked at Tala a lot and soaked up family time! I am really excited to share with you my  K I T C H E N  R E V E A L below..........new paint holler!

Last Friday, We had our youth leaders over for a celebration! Lasanga/salad and desserts. It was great to connect. We are so THANKFUL for their dedication to our youth group......THE GATE! We played an intense game of scruples and laughed!

My in laws came for a 24 hour visit to see their granddaughters. It was beautiful weather while they were here. Lots of sunscreen and pushing the girls on the swings!

My neighbor gave the kiddos rides.

Grandma Loni and Zion hit up Old Navy together. Zi chose this dress (which I adore) and the headband for Zakiyah!

My new mousepad! I scored it for $2 at Target....best part, it is a notebook.

I painted my door.......obsessed.

It is so happy.

Planted flowers......loving my chevron pots!

I brought out one of our chalkboards and rested it by the door!

+++++++++++

Now on to the KITCH. I am so excited to see this room coming together. It is the room I spend the most time in.

Here is a pix of it when we moved in......

Below are two pix of it when we moved our things in......

I painted the wall with Chalkboard paint last fall. It has been so fun using it for our family and the girls art.

Below is the newly painted walls..........

I LOVE IT! It is Sherwin-Williams, "Friendly Yellow". I love how it brightens up the space. It goes so well with the West Elm lights. I changed out the curtains with linen West Elm white ones. Fresh for summer.

LOVE!

Love my cafe curtains with Jody fabric. I love the vintage feel.

I stretched the fabric and put it on a canvas frame that my hus made.

I hung clip boards for kid art!

I love RED. I love Gerbs. I love flowers.

I have lots more surprises to reveal next week. Stay tuned.
Do have any fun projects going? A favorite paint color? Have a great weekend! Happy Memorial Weekend!!!!!

We have a BLUE DOOR!

I am so excited to share with you our newly painted (for the second time) DOOR! I love it!!!!!! Saturday morning, I woke up motivated! Over breakfast, Andy and I were discussing the plans for the day and we landed on lots of outside projects. I hauled the girls to Sherwin-Williams with me and we picked out paint on the spot. That is how I roll.....

When we bought our house it had a midnight blue/navy door. I liked it but it wasn't bright enough for me. Imagine that....so I used leftover paint from studio....and went to this.....

When we were building the studio downstairs, I knew I wanted a bright door- lime green is what I went with. I still love it on the studio door. I had leftover paint, and decided to paint the front door too. I just have not been 100% about it. Why? Too bright. Too hard to have accent colors with it. I wanted to add more tones to our front. I love a good house with some curb appeal.

Above is the studio door. I think it works great for that space! Just not the front....

So after quickly browsing my Pinterest boards, I decided blue would be it. I picked "Blue Cruise" by SW. I love it. I painted the exterior and interior of the door this time.

I potted our flowers too! LOVING THEM!!!!!!

I begged Andy and his dad to hang the hanging basket up for me! I think it adds a lot. I brought out my yellow wreath for summer too.

I like how the blue brings out the gray! I am hoping to coax the hus to help me with window shutters this summer too. We are going to go with a colonial yellow for them. I also want white window boxes on the main floor windows. I can't wait. I am super happy with how it turned out!

Do you have any summer projects going? I am on a roll! Check back tomorrow for my Kitchen REVEAL! I painted it.........yellow!!!!!! It is gorg!

We have been living on our deck that my Hus built last summer.....I love having it. We treat it like a bonus room.....BLISS....I love having a space to be outside with my family.....

I am so happy that we decided to go with composite wood. No maintenance = happy fam. I planted some cilantro and basil in the container on the coffee table. YUM!

I still pinch myself that we have this view.

Our playground is being used daily by our girls, the neighbors, and my clients kiddos. I love having it. Praise for green trees and grass.  Have a super day!
