my stools-revamped!

I love how paint can make such a difference. In decor. On walls. It gives things a new start. I have been wanting to paint our stools at our island for a while now. I got some time this past weekend to do it up.

I painted the kitchen yellow a month ago, added new lights this past spring, and painted the scripture on the wall.  When I painted the walls, we took out the stools thinking I would get to it sooner....but life happens. So this is how my kitchen looked without my newly painted stools.

Lets go down memory lane, and remember what my kitchen looked like before we moved in.....

Above is a picture of the kitchen this past winter.
No paint.
No new lights.
No new curtains.
Note:  the espresso stools. (too dark and no punch of color)

My hus sanded them down to this for the prep.

perfection!

The color is Sherwin Williams- Drizzle. I painted it with a brush/ two coats. I finished with a matte finish sealer. I am so happy with it.

My goal was to tie in the blue that is in my wool rugs that are in my kitchen. I think it pairs well with it.

I also picked some pink roses from our rose bush out front and put it in my crate-n-barrel vase. The tray is C&B as well. The candle is target. The planter is Anthro and the elephants are Pier One.  Happy Table makes happy Christy

Are you working up any projects!?

Check back tomorrow for Lock Love Wednesday!

weekend recap.

we had a lovely weekend, despite the weather. Holy storms batman. I can not get over the storms. So loud and crazy. My plants/flowers are depressed and suffering. Kiyah is not liking the thunder.....up a lot with her. We opted for indoor swimming and playing outside as much as we could in between the showers.
Friday night, we headed to our friends house for a pig roast. It was great spending time with friends and letting the girls get lots of play time. The Cors were great hosts as always. Joe made some amazing pork sandwiches. It was quite the production. (Joe is our nanny, Noelle's dad)

Four different rubs.

Mar-Mar loving on Kiyah

Slack line addiction.

The kids in their blissful state.

Saturday morning....... we headed to the farmers market in Rochester. I gave Zion all the money for her purse and let her be in charge of paying. It was a good opportunity to teach her about money. We had a blast.

We got radishes, lettuce/greens, popcorn, and green onions. YUM!

We hit the gym twice this weekend for swimming and workouts. So needed. It was a great relaxing weekend with the kids. Sunday was typical sunday funday with the Gate youth. We were outside all day.

Here is a sneak peek of my stools I painted over the weekend. Check back tomorrow to see the reveal. They look awesome!!!!!

Happy Monday!
