"Thankful" Frame A R T

I love the idea of November, being a month of celebrating being THANKFUL! I saw an idea similar to this frame in Better Homes & Gardens magazine, and knew that it would be perfect for our dining room!

I bought the 18x24 driftwood frame at Hobby Lobby. The cage wire is from Lowes. It is the easiest project for a afternoon (while the girls napped) :) I cut the wire to the according measurements. I was going to staple in the wire but the frame is too narrow for the staples. They were exposed on the front, so I just made it so it would sit perfectly in the frame. I still am going to use a super glue to secure the wire, but for now, I just have it snapped into place.

I hung it up next to a frame in our dining room! So everyday, in the month of November,  i ask Zion what she is thankful for and I write it down on random paper. I clip it on to the wire with mini clothespins.

I spy a cute 3 year old eating breakfast! :)

I like how it is personal and fits our family's style! It goes well with my lovely farm table too!

I plan to use the frame year round for other fun items too! I am thinking:  Advent, Things we LOVE for valentines, Birthday cards, flash cards etc. It should be fun! Do you have any ideas of what I could use it for? Please share in my comments! I am always up for ideas! It will be fun to have Zakiyah participate next year!

Today, I am thankful for my red robe and coffee! Last night, at bible study, we were discussing the Beautitudes and It is such a good reminder to be thankful for all circumstances. I choose to look at my life from God's perspective. Choosing to be thankful. Choosing to rise to the occasion. Choosing to be a day maker. Choosing to be CONTENT.

(Matthew 5: 3-12)
“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.
“You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.
“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.
“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.
“You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.
“You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.
“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.
10 “You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.
11-12 “Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.

Happy Monday!
