What makes our house a home……...

I love the little details that go into a home, to have it represent you! Having children has definitely created change within our space, to have it accommodate our needs on a daily basis! I thought it would be fun to share some of my current favs that make it…..US.

SPRING FLOWERS!!!!!!!! I buy $4-6 bouquets at Trader Joes and spread them throughout my home! Happy // Joy // Fresh // Cozy

Our tray on our table with some favs:  Candle from gram/ Pitcher from gram with flowers / elephant S&P shakers / our dinner devo / mug rugs

How happy and perfect is this tablecloth!!!!??? It fits my personality to a T!

Let's be real! Pie is Happiness. I made apple pie last night for our dinner!

My little monster/ 20 month old lil lady eats by the fists full. This morning……. oatmeal shoveling in her mouth. I heart her.

I love all of the crafts and art that my kids make in our home! Zion made this canvas at church! She is sooooooo creative! Her three words she writes daily are:  Zion + MomC ( for Christy) + and Frozen (of course)  She is also obsessed with drawing hands and painting the nails on them!

Zion and Zakiyah painted pinecones recently too! I put them in a vase and wrapped moss and hemp on it! (I had easter eggs hanging on branches before with this vase)

Painted rocks.

I am obsessed with the indian fabric "kantha" throws. I have them throughout my home! I love it on my nightstand!

We are still plugging away on getting our old nursery into a office/art room! I just painted the peg board for the space! I used a Moroccan stencil. I am soooo excited for this room to be used to it's maximum potential.

What makes your home you?
Happy Monday!

Lock LOVE Wednesday

Happy Lock Love Wednesday! I have been rocking a different part lately and loving my curls! It is fun having more length to work with. I started LLW to keep this hairstylist accountable. It is so easy to get in a hair rut and not style my own hair! I have fun sharing with you anything Hair related! Today, is Before + After day! Join with me below and link up and show off your styling techniques or beautiful hair! Follow me on Instagram @ talahairlife #locklovewed and #locklovewednesday

I have been curling my hair a lot lately! I love how it is finally getting longer!!!!!

It is a miracle when my 20 month old lets me put headbands in her hair! My FAV!!!!

In the Spirit of Easter, here is Zi telling me she is "Mary"! :)
Remember last week's LLW? I showed you Chelsey's before (blonde)? She came back in for round two of the brown and caramels! I am loving her dimension now that she has more depth. The left side is after we prepped her hair and the right side is after coloring her base darker and pulling it through. She will continue to add darker tones in her blonde locks.

Brittney loves rocking the assymetrical bob. I painted her hair with a dark brown at her base and pulled a clear glaze through her ends! We freshened up her left side with some fun brighter tones.

Holly gave me the honor of cutting off 12" of her hair for Locks of Love! She is a mama of 4 (youngest is 3 wks old!) and needed change! I love how shiny her hair looks!
Tanya has amazing hair! It was rather dry pre-color/cut, so I colored her hair with a rich copper gold and glazed her hair through her ends to condition it and expand the cuticle again! We cleaned up her cut overall too!
Taylor had a fun ombré wanting to go back to her natural after much debate! She looks gorgeous either way! I love how a rich, all over tint just changes her look so much! She is gorgeous!

April always means BLONDE! I never get sick of seeing the before and after results of lots of blonde added in! Both of these ladies, needed fresh locks!!!! It looks amazing on them!!!!

My sister came in for a new do too! She is a natural red head, who prefers more intense reds on her! I colored her hair with three colors: a high def Red-Voilet, a Red-Red and a copper glaze! WOW! She looks amaze!

Happy Lock love WED!

Cass Life

I have been on a kick with bringing in greens/ succulents/ flowers into our home! I love how they make a space bright and homey! It is a great way to combat this cold Minnesota weather too! I have this succulent on a doily sitting on a crystal cake stand on my farm table!

I love doing crafts with my kiddos! A few weeks ago, my BFF and I made these eggs with our girls and let them paint them! She prepped the eggs, by baking them the night before. I had the branches in my greens outside. I love re-using them indoors. I had the moss ribbon and hemp and just wrapped it around the vase! I got the egg recipe HERE.

We love using cookie cutters as stencils (way cheaper than buying stencils). I bought 101 on Amazon for under $20. I put them in this basket from Target! Adorbs! I am on a mish right now creating a art/craft/office space! I am going to be putting all of our supplies in this room! Can't wait……

The girls have been sharing a room for a month now and loving it!!!! I am amazed at how smooth the transition has gone. I brought in Zakiyah's bunting in the room to add to the polka-dot bunting. I made the tassel garland too! I love their room!!!!!!

Oh My WORD! These girls cruise the beat everyday….rain…or shine….or…..snow ;) Bundled and ready-- they go up and down the driveways in our hood! Zion is actually a really good driver! Thanks Grandma Loni for the perfect gift! They love their car!

I sure take a lot of pix of my ladies…but I mean… look at them. SOOOOOO CUTE.

I love this family pix! We were taking pix at church and had a friend take this one on their phone. Heart-overflowing….

My NOVA…. .exploring everyday. running wild. talking jiberious. holding her babies. obsessed with smacking her lips and pretending to eat her play food. She is the best!

My Zi wearing my dress from my 5th Easter! My mom made this for me! circa 1987  I love this keepsake. Zion is drawing princesses everyday, obsessed with Tangeld and Frozen. Singing and putting on shows! She has the imagination I dream of having.

I drew this camper on our chalkboard wall, and Zion copied with her version of one. Pretty good!

Loving the season.
Loving creating and laughing.
Loving using our imaginations.
If you would like to come shop at Elsa's boutique or come to watch a ballet performance in our living room, let me know! :)

Happy Tuesday!

My Cozy Reading Nook

I have lots of great posts coming your way! Sorry for my lack of posts on here! I needed a break-a-roo. But, I have some fun reveals for you this week! I have been working on a reading nook for our living room! We have had a few things in this area, but I wasn't feeling it! I have been on a mission to get this space cozy and resourceful. I am loving the progress we have made!

Here is the updated pix! I am loving the warmth of this space. Don't you want to crawl up and read a book? I still want to add one chair here! I am wanting a chair with a fun pattern on it! The pillow is from ETSY. The blanket is from Macy's (wedding gift).

Here is a pix of it the corner a couple weeks ago.

The girls kitchen has been moved again. We tend to put it in every room of our home! We started with Andy hanging the shelf that I scored at TJ Maxx for a deal!

I got the table at a fabulous antique store in Rochester- Antiquity!!!! You must got there! They have great deals!  I owned the lamp already from West Elm. The mirrored frame is Target from a few years back.

I heart the detailing on the chair. I got the chair from TJ Maxx!!!!

The striped vases are 10 years old from a boutique in Minneapolis called Patina! I spray painted the feather white and gold leafed the tip! The mirrored frame is Target! I spray painted the mirror aqua too. It was black.

The lantern is Pier One Imports from a few years ago. I just painted the watercolor art this weekend of our fam!

What do you think? Are you working on any spaces right now? Do you have a favorite place to read or surf the web in your home? Tag me on insta @talahairlife, I would love to see your space!!!!! Happy Monday!

lock love wednesday!!!!

Happy Lock Love Wednesday! I have been rocking a different part lately and loving my curls! It is fun having more length to work with. I started LLW to keep this hairstylist accountable. I got my hair colored! I am keeping the Ombré for now! Easy and fun!
I love cutting mens hair! It can make all the difference in the world. These are some styling men!!!!
Tom had the same hairstyle for 20+ years- Praise for shaving a rattail off!!!!!
Meet my buddy/photographer, Shawn- Thanks for the laugh!

Nothing sweeter than wet piggys! Stunners.

Love fixing regrowth gone wrong ;) Mary's gorgeous red!!!!!!!!!

My blondies! I love the difference foils and basebreaks make! Dana is beautiful as a blonde.
Amanda had a reverse ombré and we are working on going platinum. I did a bleach and tone and painted in some fun magenta streaks. LOVE!

Here is Amanda's back and pink!!!!  Looking good babe.

Chelsey has been going bleach blonde for quite a while now! I colored in two shades of brown, caramel and blonde on tips yesterday aiming for a very multi-dimensional ombré. It looks beautiful, but we wanted more of a ombré look. Sometimes, it doesn't work out as you anticipate. She is coming in for another color- I will share the after pix next week with you! Excited for a more dramatic transformation!

Happy LLW! Join me below or on insta! Happy Spring y'all!
