Ladies Candlelight Dinner

Every year at my church, we put on an amazing event for women in our church and community! It has been a huge blessing to me as well as many other ladies. We had around 400 women attend this awesome ladies night. It was a blast! We had around 50 tables seating 8 women. Each table had a hostess that served the ladies and decorated the table with their style! It is so awesome to see all the personalities within people's dishes and decor! Our theme this year was "REFLECTIONS". We inspired with the typography craze right now for the decor! We used mirror garland and candles too! I hosted a table to my friends, sister- Chelsea and cousin-Molly! It was such a blessing spending the evening with my friends! The event is a catered meal with live music and a guest speaker. This year we had a friend of mine, Jen Anderson share her story on how God has carried her through so many circumstances! She nailed it. It was a blessing hearing her heart as she poured her words out to us. I can't wait for next year!

This was our 5x7 invite. I took this off my iPhone, so its not the whole thing. I love it! Below are some detail shots of the evening! Lots of my table decorations that I through together last minute. I gave a little mirror from Pier 1 Imports to each of my guest!

Below is the stage set! We had the heart banner designed by our Assistant Youth Pastor, Jorden! He nailed it! I am in LOVE with it. So great! It is perfect! We used our glass podium, a Chandelier from a wedding, black curtains, mirror garland that turned into being a headache to make, and my Pier 1 Imports candle stands from my wedding!

My friend Kati and I put in long hours at the church between Sunday-Monday that we opted for the church bathroom to get ready! ha. She even had to run and buy a shirt because she was locked out of her house and slept over at my house.....We were a hot mess. :) We put her sister, Lindsay, (also a Hair Stylist) to whip up a style for Kati. This is Kati's daughter, Franki! Precious!!!!!

My girlfriend- Danielle! She hosted a table  and was apart of the special music! Love you Nell.

All in All it was a great event! We couldn't have done it without all the volunteers and servant hearts behind it all. Thanks everyone!

Do you have a favorite event that you have attended at a church? Or any ideas for us? Loves.

LOCK LOVE Wednesday!!!

I started Lock Lock Wednesday to get myself motivated to style my hair everyday. It is so easy, for even hair stylists to get in a rut with their hair. I am hoping to inspire you along the way with simple and fun techniques to help you look fabulous! Join me along the way. It will be fun! All you have to do is take snapshots of your hair during the week and link up with me below!

I have been so busy this week with birthdays, baby dedication, work, a huge women's ministry event at my church, mamahood, life that I opted for really easy styles! Here i literally took 2 day old hair ;) and seperated it in half. I simply twisted it and through in some bobby pins to keep it together. it is a glorified pig tail/ double bun look!

Here is a side shot of it! Note:  no make up. I also got sick this week! NBD. I went with it....

Here I twisted my hair back. I started in the front with my fringe and twisted away from my face, grabbing more hair as I went. I took all my hair and looped it in a knot/bun and bobby pinned it. It took 2 minutes. It had imperfections, but it worked.

Side shot

This style was on Sunday! We had a really long day at church and with our family celebrating my daughters/Hus! I twisted my front fringe back, back combed my crown area. I took my hair in 3 sections and twisted it in a loose rendition of a french twist. As you know, I love flowers, so I put in two flower clips from H&M in there too!

This is Monday! I literally styled my hair in the church bathroom! Ha. I air dried my hair in the morning, because my girls were not letting this lady get ready. I used my faithful 1/2" curling iron and curled my hair! I used my Awapuhi hairspray/texture spray! I had about 10 minutes to make this happen, before the big event! I will post tomorrow about our women's ministry event! Stay tuned!

Don't forget to link up below with me! All you have to do is post some awesome phone pix of your hair throughout the week! You can also find me on instagram and use the hashtag:  #locklovewed

Have fun!

Zakiyah's Baby Dedication

This past weekend, we got to have our daughter dedicated. Dedication is a lot like baptism. We just don't sprinkle them with water. We allow people to get "baptized" when they are old enough to make that personal decision. Having Zakiyah dedicated was our declaration to dedicate Z to God, our church family and to vow to raise her with Christian values. Having our girls dedicated is very meaningful to us. With my husband being a Pastor at our church, he got to dedicate both Zion and Zakiyah! It was so great. Our prayer is that our girls grow up in the church having a personal relationship with God. Growing daily in his promises and truth. Having friends in our church home. We are excited for their future. God is good.
We had both of our families come for the day on Sunday. We were surprised with my SIL, Katie co-leading worship with our team. Katie was our worship leader for 3 plus years before. It was so fun to have her up there again! A funny thing that happened, right before we went up for the dedication, my 3 year old Zion said, " I have to go potty." We, being awesome parents, said, "Hold it." ha. She felt pretty special holding the rose. The rose represents how our lives bud so fast. growing up through the years.....

 Both of our families....

After church, everyone headed over to our house for Tacos! YUM! We celebrated Andy and Zion's birthday and Kiyah's dedication. We had the whole set up with authentic taco meat, gauc, fresh salsa, corn torillas, soft shredded mex. cheese, cilantro, lime, black beans etc. It was so good! We also had apple soda and coke! the essentials....

The girls got really thoughtful gifts! My family did great getting them the perfect presents. My sister, Chelsea made this 10 commandments frame! I adore it.

Andy requested that I made his favorite:  a Triffle. I layer Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownies, homemade whip cream, chocolate pudding, raspberries and strawberries! YUM!!!!

My mom got these vintage Strawberry Shortcake dollys and outfits. Look at that cradle. I adore it. She made Zion sheets and some dolly bedding of course! They can't miss out. Why don't they make dolls like this anymore?! Precious!

After all the festivities, My hus and my (almost) Brother in law hit up our backyard to go ride. It was a beautiful out...for MN. My SIL and BIL took pix of them! It was our entertainment watching them. You can see us in the windows!

Thanks to our amazing family for celebrating with us. Thanks to our church fam for sharing life with us and loving our daughters! Thanks to everyone who lifts our family up in your prayers daily. We appreciate you!
Have a great day!
