Lock Love.... Wed....er....Thursday

Hi friends! I have been slacking with my LLW posts! Sorry, I just sometimes need the inspiration to flow ;) Fall is here, whether, we like it or not..... But, Minnesota falls are the BEST. The leaves are in full color changing mode. Bliss. I am so excited for the change of season from the fashion side of things. Burgundies. Hazelnut browns, boots , scarfs, bold lips etc. I have been pinning away on my Pinterest boards for fall.  I am a huge fan of a couple fashion blogs that are so inspirational as well.

( ^^ for weddings and fashion)
(dive into those and you will thank me)

I started Lock Lock Wednesday to get myself motivated to style my hair everyday. It is so easy, for even hair stylists to get in a rut with their hair. I am hoping to inspire you along the way with simple and fun techniques to help you look fabulous! Join me along the way. It will be fun! All you have to do is take snapshots of your hair during the week and link up with me below!  This week I am sharing with you a plethora of sorts, of pretty things. Hair and Beauty.

I love a simple braid and updo combo.

I am obsessed, to say the least, with this fashion currently. Pretty sure, I have been rocking the bohemian headband 5x a week.

I scored my headband on Etsy.

I love this simple twisted side bun.

How beautiful is this woman? I love the asymmetrical lob (long bob)

I am dying to style someone's hair like this at Tala.

A fun approach to the fishtail.

Lovely lip and nude makeup

My target shirt- It is my "worship Jesus" shirt. Thanks Target ;)

I love curling short hair. This is Lisa, she has been rocking this "long" cut for her, a while now. I showed her how to curl the hair with a 1" inch curling iron. The key is to keep the ends (1-2") out of the curling iron, curling away from the face. We used Kenra taffy to piece it out. She is gorgeous.

I get asked all the time about Base Breaks. They are revolutionary for caramel/blondes. The left is my before the BB yesterday- and after on the right. You simply, break the base with a high lift color for 5-10 minutes. I do this every 5-6 weeks, and foil in blonde every 4 months. I love how it doesn't over-process my hair, gives my hair a break, brightens up everything, and is good for my client's pocket books. I charge $35. They are the best!!!!

I colored Kari's Base break yesterday! She had 1" of re-growth. I love how it changes the whole look of blonde!

I can not believe that Tala has been open for 2 years now! What to the what?! I am celebrating with you by offering a discount on my Awapuhi Shampoo + Conditioner liters and my favorite dry shampoo! Thanks to all my Tala peeps for letting this lady, live out her dream! You rock!

Join the fun, and link up below, via instagram dot com or your blog and share your style.fashion, and hair favs! Feel free to comment below too :) I love hearing about your favs! Please share the goodness.

Loves.

I am lovin'

I am still dreaming of the day I get to attend or be apart of New York Fashion Week. I think the buzz and craziness of it all would be a blast! As us Minnesota folk are in the midst of winter wonderland, I am dreaming of spring. New looks. New color.

Fresh.
Vibrant.
Radiant.
Casual.
Bold.

Those are some words that I am loving right now for things that I have been drawn too.

The ombre' hair style is still popping up everywhere.

I love the simpleness to this girls makeup. The 5 minute face. I like the warmth they picked for her cheeks and lip. Less is more.

Braids. Braids. Braids. I have been obsessed with these for 6 years now. Ever since Jessica Simpson and Nicole Richie started the craze. I can't get enough of them. There are so many variations. I still can't get over how many of my clients don't know how to braid. I should teach a workshop on it. So many versions.....I love this updo.

Love. Messy. Kept.....and obsessed with her purse.

THis is a great alternative to the barrette or a pony. very bohemian.

Leather. Red Lips. Black sunnies. Starbux. need I say more. PERF.

My current hair inspiration! Length. Color. I can do it. I can do it. I can do it. (See ya in 3 years) I love the denim, boots, leggings and scarf too.

I have been obsessed with color blocking. Bright/ Neon colors for a couple years now. I can't get enough of the statement it makes. I am a lover of bright and cheerful clothing. Between the structure and lines that are in the clothes and the colors mixed with blacks and green. I heart it all.

City life. Just like a Rochester stroll. Ha. But I adore the red jumper with the ankle boots.

This outfit is the most like me! I love the polka dots and the mint pants. Gap has some right now that I have been lusting over. I love it. Flats and pearls are always a staple.

What styles are you liking right now? Do you have a favorite color for 2013?

Fall Inspiration for Hair

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the 1940's era. It is has continued to hold such a vast variety of inspiration. I love the red lips. the pin curls. finger waves. floral prints. the hats. the fashion gloves. the femininity of the decade. Women rocked it! I have been so excited with the come back from this time period on the runways, magazines and stores. It is so fun to play with on a daily basis. I dare you to buy some red lip stick and rock it out. Or wear your hair different than the average day. I am tempted to hit some consignment shops or my Grandma's closet for some fun vintage wear.

MINT GREEN! what a fun color. I am so excited to wear normal clothes again. Now that I am not pregnant, I am looking forward to exploring with my wardrobe again. I recently went to the Mall of America and could not get over all the mint green everywhere. So fun. There is even a bakery in my husband's home town that has this color in it. I am obsessed.

Isn't this so fun?! I love the look. the messy braids. the color palette. the lip color with the fusion of the two contrasting colors. Messy braids are stickin around. I wish I had long hair to do it up!

So beautiful. To get this look you need day old hair.. dry shampoo. (my fav is Eufora, which I sell at Tala) and a braid.

curls are RADIANT! I heart them. Here are some of my favs.

MENS FASHION is blowing up. I love that we are finally going bold and more runway savvy. I love the hipster look right now mixed with the 1950's mod style. So fun. I am really enjoying the Elvis, the slicked back Fonzy, the shaved sides with the length on top. Parting the hair is back. So fun. Say goodbye to the spiky look, or the mo-fo-hawk. TIME IS A CHANGIN. Step out of your comfort and rock a new look. here are some of my favs:
 oh Macgyver....i love this look.

Just kidding. there was a time for this and its not returning......:)

I love this look. so in. so now. so easy and fun to dress up or down.

and here is an example of having shorter more tight sides with some fun texture and wave on top.

Enjoy....what is your fav look right now?
