I am hoping to inspire you along the way with simple and fun techniques to help you look fabulous! Join me along the way. It will be fun! All you have to do is take snapshots of your hair during the week and link up with me below! This week I am sharing with you a plethora of sorts, of pretty things. Hair and Beauty.
It has been a busy week at Tala! I had the lovely opportunity to head up to the beautiful city of Stillwater (Eastern suburb of St. Paul) for one of my client's wedding this past weekend. I got to style hair and attend the beautiful wedding!
Here are the gorgeous bridesmaids and bride. I love their dresses (mod cloth) and the floral arrangements. They look stunning! Taylor, the bride, styled her own hair, wanting it to be romantic and down. I love the overall look!
Here are some close ups of the styles.
On Kayla, we used a side braid on the right and some fun knots on the left. Her hair was should length so it was fun to funk it up a touch.
Karly (above) had tons of hair that hit the lower part of her back. So, I literally took the bottom half of her hair and made two braids and put them in a bun to hide hair that was un-needed. I twisted the top sections back in curls to avoid a part and give it lots of volume.
Dude, have you tried hair chalk? It is great for all ages! I took this selfie in the car of mine. I rocked it for the wedding. It washes out and is a fun way to switch up your hair. I use it on kiddos all the time too! (as seen below at Tala) If you want some, let me know, and I will order it for you!
Some Tala- Before/Afters from the week:
This is a Ombre fix- another hair stylist colored this ombre, and my client wasn't feeling it so we did a very heavy blonde foil with random chocolate brown low lights distributed throughout to balance the retouch and ends. I love how it turned out.
My girl, Cindy, let me brighten up her hair with copper/gold highlights and a rich copper/auburn tint. I love it!
I wish I had a before for Danielle! She had a level 7-8 ash blonde and I went through and foils pretty much every strand with a high lift bleach. I did peek-a-boo 5/6 N foils throughout the hair as well. I love how bright it is!
This was my first time cutting Claire's hair and we rocked out a new/fresh style for fall. She graduated from college in May and is a official grown up now! I love how healthy and sophisticated her hair is now!
I brightened up my friend, Alicia's hair this week too! Lots of bright blondes! I love how the platinum brings out her eyes!
My friend Jordan hung out with me this week and I whipped in some braids to do a quick and easy style!

LLW -- Special Occasion Hair

This week, I thought it would be fun to share with you some special occasion/fancy hair! I got to style hair for my cousin's wedding this past weekend! I did 8 women's hair. It was a blast to have them all over and go to town with hairspray and bobby pins. I always try to create different styles for each person.
Above: I took the hair and curled it with a 1" curling iron. I back combed the crown area and did a messy bun with pins. I sectioned out the front of the hair and braided it on each side, then stretched the braid across the top of the bun and pinned away. I love how it turned out!
Above is the bride, Krista. I actually used extensions in her hair to add thickness and length. We curled her hair and back combed a lot. I did a braid along her nape and pinned it all into a messy pony/bun. I love how it turned out. vintage. stunning. gorgeous. and romantic.
For this style, I took hair and curled for prep. I then did 3 buns looping them into a double bun. So essentially, it looks like 6 buns. Isn't it cute? I like the simplicity of this look.
For Atley's hair, I did lots of braids. It is fun and youthful. I swept it up to the right for a feminine look. I love how it looked on her.
This photo is blurry but it is the only one I got. I used extensions here and curled a lot! I love how this style turned out. it is on the mother of the bride. Classic and timeless.

I am sharing with you two styles I did this week! I am loving the braids in all the styles right now. So fun. I had the privilege of styling Hope and Mackenzie's hair for their PROM. It was a blast.
I had a boring week for my hair. Sometimes we fail. I will have lots next week.... I promise.

This past Sunday, My girls and I wore matching outfits to church! It was a first for us. We wore grey sweaters (zion/j.crew, and Kiyah and I/gap) and grey skinnies (z girls/gap and mine/target) It was fun matching my beauties for St. Pattys. I put my hair up with some bobby pins. I had washed my hair the day before so all I needed was my dry shampoo and hairspray. I used a 1/2" curling iron and just put some texture in it with that.
I think they look so big here!
I have been loving being able to throw my hair up now! So fun and fresh. Here I backcombed my hair a lot prior to putting it up. I took bobby pins and pinned down my crown. then gathered my hair as if I were putting it in a loose pony and started pinning. I used my flat iron (1" GHD) to bend some of the strands. I used my hairspray to spread out the crazy strays.
A close up. I love using my silk headbands to dress it up!
This pix is taken yesterday! I rocked out a similar hairstyle. I put my hair in more of bun first with this one and then pinned up. It was less of a pouf. It was fun though. My hair was on day 4 here without washing.....Don't hate ;)
