Our Master Bedroom

I thought it would be fun to show you our bedroom! I have always made a point to make our room a sanctuary. I think it is really important to have a place of rest that represents you. I love our room. I have not done much with it at this point. We are going to paint it at some point. I have toyed around with some colors/patterns for the walls. But I have not landed on a decision quite yet. So here it is....

Here are before-when we moved in....this was the room.

and After we moved in....

West Elm comforter. I adore this.

I scored this bed skirt at Anthropologie on clearance. I love the lightness of it..so cute.
Plus, it is just enough of pink for me, but not too feminine for my hus.

The headboard/footboard is Ashley Furniture. I change our bedding/pillows a lot throughout the year. It makes me happy. Right now the duvet is Target. The grey and white pillow cases are TJ Maxx. The striped pillows are Marshall Fields. The sea-foam pillow is Target. The lamps are Target-spray painted yellow.

I got the frames from my Grandma, and spray painted them with a high gloss black. The fabric is from Jody at the Fabric Shoppe. It is Alexander Henry. Cheap and fun.

This is a frame above my dresser. It is a card by my favorite artist, Sabrina Ward Harrison.

Faux Flowers from Pier One Imports.

West Elm curtains with white wood blinds.

The left door is our master bath. the middle door is our closet. I hope to paint the dresser a cream or soft yellow soon. I know a lot of people think it is a sin to paint antiques; but I have been wanting to do this for a long time now.....I am going to put the original brass handles back on it too. I inherited the dresser from my Grandma when I was 13. I love it!

Anthro bowl and egg crate for jewelry!

Details of my dresser.

A couple years back, I used the same fabric in my frames and covered my lamp shade from Pier One Imports. Much more Christy!

Chevron West Elm paper mache' side table for reading.

My little gallery wall of pictures of Andy and I.....heart!

The red canvas I painted and the flower is a photo stretched on a canvas from my friend Shel! Isn't it gorgeous! It is so happy!

My amaze father made this hope chest for me when I graduated from High School. It means a lot to me!

My dad made these night stands for us for our first wedding anniversary. The idea and concept was taken from a Pottery Barn one I wanted. I love them. Perfect for storage....

Some day we will paint. Otherwise, it is my happy place!

Process of building my Studio Phase 2

It is so fun to look back on our photos from the building process of the studio. I last posted on the the beginning of the construction here. It is definitely due time to show you more of the details that went into building my hair studio! It has been such a crazy blessing living out my dream over the past year and a half. I still pinch myself daily that has become the "norm" working from home! I last left with you with pictures of the cement being poured outside and the framing going up in the studio/bathroom etc. Here are some pictures after the transom window and door were installed.

Here a shot of the wall where my product is now. The wall to the right of the fireplace is where my art work is hanging and where my clients process. The fireplace here was installed at a higher height originally, but we had to remove it and lower it eventually. I will share more on that in a later post. I am sooo happy that we went with a transom window here. It not only lets in a lot of light into the space, but I love being able to see my guests coming down the steps!

The left wall here is a continuation of the gallery wall where my clients process. The right wall is my "station" wall. The hallway goes towards the barn door and bathroom.

I love how the door adds natural light as well. I like the simplicity of the structure.

Here is the other side of the studio. The stairs are right off my kitchen/dining room upstairs. to the right of this picture is my storage room. The big room is our family room! The barn door separates the spaces from each other.

Family Room wall.

Here is another angle of the station wall and hallway to the bathroom and family room.

I love my door!

Good ole' installation was the next step after the framing/window/door were put in.

A couple pictures of our door and window from outside.

After this, we got to put the sheet rock up and continue moving along in the dreaming of making our studio a reality! I will post more later this week on the transformation. Are you working on any jobs or reno's right now? I can't imagine building a home from ground up! It would be so overwhelming.

Morning life.

One of my favorite part of our home is how the sun shines in the mornings. Our living room just glows. Yesterday morning, the girls and I were doing our normal routine. coffee. play. exersaucer time. checkin email. driving in the purple van. playing beauty shop. having a tea party. I grabbed my camera and thought I needed to capture this moment.

Someday I am going to miss this.
Someday I am going to want to have pandora Hillsong kids radio on.
Someday I am going to miss my daughter wearing a summer dress in the winter.
Someday I am going to miss sitting under a table riding in a pur-po van waving to our neighbors.
Someday I am going to miss the sister cuddles and giggles.
Someday I am going to miss the clutter of my living space with too many plastic toys.

Kiyah loves this thing. It is the grand central hub for her entertainment. Sister is teething. She cut two teeth around the new year and I am impatiently waiting for round two to hit the Cass casa. I have had about a 5 days of sleepless nights and an abnormal dependent baby girl.

If you notice random items on the floor, they are everywhere. Zi is an organizing, pile making, sortin machine.

To think that one month ago, Kiyah just looked at the toys on this thing. Now she is a master!

Z sister love.

Kiyah is all cuddles. She is hilarious. Her new thing is giving me hugs all the time. She just crashes into my chest. It is my FAVORITE! She is such a ham.

She was squawking here!

Zion always is laying on her and giving her big hugs! saying, "hi hi hi hi hi hi hi hi" over and over. Occasionally, she switches it up and says, "kiyah kiyah kiyah kiyah". It is the BEST. Kiyah loves her Zi.

Now, we have arrived to the Tala Hair Studio. Zion is obsessed with beauty shop. She is a natural. My newest employee:) She is laying back in the salon chair here getting her hair washed. I shampooed her hair for her.

"Mom, wanna pay hair shop. I need a blanket to cover me up. I get Haiwr on it."

"Mom, wash it."

"Mom, gotta do this."

"Mom, buckle this."

Post blow dry! Isn't she a beauty?
