Lock Love.... Wed....er....Thursday

Hi friends! I have been slacking with my LLW posts! Sorry, I just sometimes need the inspiration to flow ;) Fall is here, whether, we like it or not..... But, Minnesota falls are the BEST. The leaves are in full color changing mode. Bliss. I am so excited for the change of season from the fashion side of things. Burgundies. Hazelnut browns, boots , scarfs, bold lips etc. I have been pinning away on my Pinterest boards for fall.  I am a huge fan of a couple fashion blogs that are so inspirational as well.

( ^^ for weddings and fashion)
(dive into those and you will thank me)

I started Lock Lock Wednesday to get myself motivated to style my hair everyday. It is so easy, for even hair stylists to get in a rut with their hair. I am hoping to inspire you along the way with simple and fun techniques to help you look fabulous! Join me along the way. It will be fun! All you have to do is take snapshots of your hair during the week and link up with me below!  This week I am sharing with you a plethora of sorts, of pretty things. Hair and Beauty.

I love a simple braid and updo combo.

I am obsessed, to say the least, with this fashion currently. Pretty sure, I have been rocking the bohemian headband 5x a week.

I scored my headband on Etsy.

I love this simple twisted side bun.

How beautiful is this woman? I love the asymmetrical lob (long bob)

I am dying to style someone's hair like this at Tala.

A fun approach to the fishtail.

Lovely lip and nude makeup

My target shirt- It is my "worship Jesus" shirt. Thanks Target ;)

I love curling short hair. This is Lisa, she has been rocking this "long" cut for her, a while now. I showed her how to curl the hair with a 1" inch curling iron. The key is to keep the ends (1-2") out of the curling iron, curling away from the face. We used Kenra taffy to piece it out. She is gorgeous.

I get asked all the time about Base Breaks. They are revolutionary for caramel/blondes. The left is my before the BB yesterday- and after on the right. You simply, break the base with a high lift color for 5-10 minutes. I do this every 5-6 weeks, and foil in blonde every 4 months. I love how it doesn't over-process my hair, gives my hair a break, brightens up everything, and is good for my client's pocket books. I charge $35. They are the best!!!!

I colored Kari's Base break yesterday! She had 1" of re-growth. I love how it changes the whole look of blonde!

I can not believe that Tala has been open for 2 years now! What to the what?! I am celebrating with you by offering a discount on my Awapuhi Shampoo + Conditioner liters and my favorite dry shampoo! Thanks to all my Tala peeps for letting this lady, live out her dream! You rock!

Join the fun, and link up below, via instagram dot com or your blog and share your style.fashion, and hair favs! Feel free to comment below too :) I love hearing about your favs! Please share the goodness.

Loves.

Best Chive & Gorgonzola Dip!

Are you ready to taste the best dip ever? I cannot take credit for this fabulous recipe, Tyler Florence, a famous chef, had this bad boy in my People magazine. I made it Sunday night for our youth bible study and it was a H.I.T.

We served it with sweet potato chips, blue corn chips and pretzels. Heaven. Seriously, a new fav, at the Cass Casa. I want to serve this with veggies too!

It is the perfect season for dips! Football, Cozy time, hosting friends and family!

Chive and Gorgonzola Dip Recipe

1 cup of mayo
1 cup of sour cream
1 container of Bleu Cheese ( I heart Gorgonzola)
1/2 of squeezed lemon
1/4 cup of chopped chives (fresh)
salt/pepper
1 T. honey

(tyler's recipe varies slightly, i dumped my ingredients) I want to try it with garlic and dill too! Oh the possibilites!

Let me know if it is a hit! You will thank me.

Happy Wednesday friends.

cass life- pumpkin patch and life around the house

This mama is so proud of her 3.5 year old! Zion has been obsessed with doing "school" everyday. A couple of weeks ago, she couldn't trace a letter, now...she is tracing the whole alphabet. She is so proud of herself too! I picked up preschool workbooks at Target for the school year. I love how my little Zion is a little sponge right now with everything she is learning!

Zakiyah and her facial expressions.....such a ham.

Morning eyes. My fav.

We hit up our favorite apple orchard on Saturday! It was a quick stop for homemade doughnuts, a hayride, feeding the billy goats, getting apples (eating apples) etc. I love this tradition. I have to say that MN spoils us in the FALL. Bliss.

   (mom photo bomb)

I mean, look at those precious little ladies.

Buddies for life. No ifs, ands, or buts. Built in BFF.

Andy trying to convince Zion not to be a city girl. "Feed the goat, Zion." It didn't happen. She opted for the observation route.

Getting crazy.

Morning eyes again. Footie jammies. Cruizin the beat.

shifting gears.

Happy Monday! Check back tomorrow for a fabulous dip recipe that I made yesterday! Heaven on Earth. Blue Cheese/ Chive dip............ num.

H54F

Happy Friday y'all! Every Friday, I link up with Jeanett and Lauren and show you some highlights from my week. This week has been busy as usual, but I had a great time living life fully.
Being a hairstylist is the best job ever! I love having the opportunities to transform people's appearances and give them that boost of confidence. Hair represents change. new seasons. Fall brings on new colors and cuts! I got to cut 7" off Ashley's hair this week and I color glazed her hair with a cinnamon/nutmeg color. Glazing takes 10 minutes and is such a quick fix to freshening up your hair. Doesn't she look awesome!

{blurry- a 5 year old took this}

Back in the day, like in 2001-2004 :), I lived with these beauties! They are my life long BFF- my go to women, my support......... and this week we got to hang out! Liz (left) lives 2 hours away and has 2 girls under 2, Jody (to my right, with her daughter in front of her) and has 3 kids under 5, lives in Rochester, which is the best ever! Jill (on the right)  has two kids under 2, lives in San Diego now! We had coffee, watched movies, painted nails, held babies, laughed, got take-out, reminisced, and took in our 24 window we got to hang out! It is so special and I love my pie girls so much.

Erik-6 months, Sydney- 6 wks, Zakiyah (mine) - 13 months

My 3 yo at ballet. I posted about it here

On Sunday, we celebrated my dad's birthday at a local pizza joint. It was so yummy as always. After lunch, we went to Bird + Goose's (my sister) for german chocolate cupcakes and coffee. I love my sister's mug collection!

Fall brings a new menu to casslife. Spaghetti squash. Pumpkin everything. Chili. Tator Tot hot dish. Butternut squash/wild rice/sausage soup. Americanos. Comfort food. Bliss.

I have been on a organizing kick lately! I got this drawer unit on Amazon for our art supplies for the girls. It has wheels and is perfect to move throughout the rooms in our house. I hate clutter. I love an organized area. Hallelujah.

What have you been up to? Any fun plans for the weekend?! I am hoping for relaxation and getting some stuff done around our home.

Happy Friday, Friends! xoxoxo
