High5 For Friday y'all

Happy Friday!
What a beautiful week here in Minnesota!
Every week, I link up with Lauren and Jeanette for my favs from my week through my pix!

I am loving my Katie Daisy print! Perfect for Independence Day! Plus, I love MN!

Last Friday night, we hit up Rochester parade with friends! My daughter (yellow headband) Zion, had a blast to say the least! We got rained on, but it was a blast.

My baby Zakiyah was very entertained by all the commotion.

I am loving how my daughter draws flowers. so cute!

"Bless the Lord....Oh my soul. Ohhhhhh my soul. I worship his holy name." A song I sing when I drink coffee. Praise the Lord for my Americano!

My girls have been wearing their matching dresses every few days. I can't get enough of them. We headed up Lake Geneva for one night at family camp. It was fun filled with swimming in the lake, playing with friends, a magic show, bounce houses, and seeing my husband's pastor from his youth. It was great!

Cass Fam 2013 4th of July- Holler!

...And I leave you with a sneak peak of my table that my hus has been working on again. He put the legs on this week. He made it for me as a surprise a year ago, and we have been waiting to finish it up! I love it so much. You can read about it here. We are hoping to stain it soon.

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? We are heading to the pool today and I am going to yoga for the first time in months! Can't wait!!!!

Lock Love Wednesday

I started Lock Lock Wednesday to get myself motivated to style my hair everyday. It is so easy, for even hair stylists to get in a rut with their hair. I am hoping to inspire you along the way with simple and fun techniques to help you look fabulous! Join me along the way. It will be fun! All you have to do is take snapshots of your hair during the week and link up with me below!

I used my 1" Hot Tools curling iron here to put some texture and wave in my hair. After curling my hair, I scrunched in Texture spray. Then I put in some aqua hair chalk! It is so easy and fun. I have a few colors and I don't use it enough :) I braided three little braids in my fringe and braided them together, pinning them off my face.

I scrunched my hair with my texture spray here to revive my products and style from the night before. I pinned one side up and used two flowers to dress up my look.
Some Tala love.
I love short hair on women.
I think it can be so flattering.
I cut my friend, Shel's hair every 4-5 weeks. We use a razor and thinning shears to accomplish this look. It looks lovely on her.

I had the privilege of coloring Chelsea's hair for the first time. We put in 6 foils back to back, creating a panel of bright Red-Red. Fun. Vibrant. Youthful. It is just the perfect amount of splash for her to feel fresh! I love it.

Are you doing anything fun with your hair? Do you have any favorite summer products? Happy Independence day! Link up with me below to show off your hair locks! Join me on Instagram as well @talahairlife #locklovewed and #locklovewednesday

Scenes around the Cass Casa

Lovin my new plant in our dining room. Say a prayer for me to keep it alive.

We finally hung our pool stick holder that my dad made. I surprised Andy with it for Christmas this past year. The wood spirit is carved by my dad as well. Zion painted the cross.

Are you doing any projects right now? I am all about the little projects. Have a great day!

It is Friday!
The sun is shining!
It feels like summer in MINNESOTA.
Lots of sunscreen. Flipflops. Grilling. Laughing. Bubble Tea. Fresh fruit. Walks to the park. I am in my Blissful state.

Every week, I link up with Lauren and Jeanette for High5 For Friday, showing you some highlights of the week! I also have my weekend recap here.

Yesterday, my three year old was invited to her best friend's 3 year old birthday party! They just happen to be our next door neighbors! It was perfect. Four little girls tying ribbons on flip-flops, playing on a slip-n-slide, eating pizza and cupcakes, opening princess dress up clothes, having their nails painted by our nanny, Noelle. She even custom made a polish for each girl! It was perfect!

I finally finished making a painting for our dear friends, Katherine and Cordie. They got married last fall! I posted about it here and here. I wanted to make them a canvas with coral and navy tones (their wedding colors). I used items from their wedding invite and song lyrics from their ceremony (Use Somebody, by Kings of Leon). I love it. They are moving today to NYC for the summer, then heading to Florida. We will miss them dearly. They are family to us. My daughters call Katherine, "Tia", which is auntie in spanish. (Tears all over writing this... I need a coffee) We will miss you sooo much.

Some scenes around my homefront.........

Deck life. bliss.

Loving my Independence Day mantel.

Roses in my front yard.

I finally painted my stools. I posted about it here!

My Zakiyah Nova. She is my joy! I love her to pieces. Crawling everywhere this one!

Happy Friday!

Do you have any plans this weekend?

I twisted both of my sides back and twisted them into 3 buns. 5 minutes or less. easy and fun.

result of humidity hitting my styled hair.

TIGI curl wand. dry shampoo and hairspray. teasing comb. done!
I took my hair into two messy versions of a french twist. I put in my girls headband. took less than 5 minutes.

Noelle, my amazing nanny, in a awesome bow bun!!!!

my stools-revamped!

I love how paint can make such a difference. In decor. On walls. It gives things a new start. I have been wanting to paint our stools at our island for a while now. I got some time this past weekend to do it up.

I painted the kitchen yellow a month ago, added new lights this past spring, and painted the scripture on the wall.  When I painted the walls, we took out the stools thinking I would get to it sooner....but life happens. So this is how my kitchen looked without my newly painted stools.

Lets go down memory lane, and remember what my kitchen looked like before we moved in.....

Above is a picture of the kitchen this past winter.
No paint.
No new lights.
No new curtains.
Note:  the espresso stools. (too dark and no punch of color)

My hus sanded them down to this for the prep.

The A F T E R
I Love It!
Happy.
vintage.
tiffany blue
aqua.
perfection!

The color is Sherwin Williams- Drizzle. I painted it with a brush/ two coats. I finished with a matte finish sealer. I am so happy with it.

My goal was to tie in the blue that is in my wool rugs that are in my kitchen. I think it pairs well with it.

I also picked some pink roses from our rose bush out front and put it in my crate-n-barrel vase. The tray is C&B as well. The candle is target. The planter is Anthro and the elephants are Pier One.  Happy Table makes happy Christy

Are you working up any projects!?

Check back tomorrow for Lock Love Wednesday!
